China's Ministry of Health Disease Prevention and Control Bureau revealed that at present, the total number of Chinese suffering from diabetes has been ranked second in the world, and show multiple growth.
Disease Prevention and Control, the Deputy Secretary said that based on the survey of China's cardiovascular Report 2005 , the prevalence of diabetes in China showed multiple growth in nearly 20 years. At present, 20 million people in China is suffering from diabetes, nearly 20 million are suffering from IGT (Impaired Glucose Intolerance) too. Now, the total number of Chinese suffering from diabetes has been ranked second in the world. If left unchecked, by 2025, the number of diabetes could reach 60 million people.
Diabetes is a lifelong metabolic diseases, it can be effectively controlled, the disease can be controlled well without affecting the work and life. Nevertheless,if improper, it will lead to cardiovascular disease, lipid disorders, blindness, kidney failure and amputation and other serious complications .
